About Humberside's PCC

The PCC is not the Police. The PCC is the voice of the public, elected for a four-year term to work on behalf of local people and hold the police to account, effectively making the police answerable to the communities they serve. The PCC for the Humberside Police force area is Jonathan Evison, elected in 2021. The next PCC Election is in May 2024.

The PCC holds the policing budget and appoints the Chief Constable to run the area’s police force. A Police and Crime Plan is also produced which runs for his term of office. The plan sets the strategic police and crime objectives for the area.

In addition to commissioning the police service for the area, the PCC commissions a range of other services to help cut crime, improve community safety and provide support for victims of crime. The PCC also works to bring together partner organisations in community safety and criminal justice to make sure local priorities are joined up.

Jonathan has attended a number of events with our Young People’s Development Group including the recent USA exchange trip celebration event. He is a huge advocate for Horizon and looks forward to coming along to the Youth Zone frequently once it is opened.
